Davide Holzknecht’s ‘Mecas’ part

Okay so what do we know about Davide… Apparently he’s from Bolzano, a small city in the Italian Dolomites near the Austrian border, which explains the German sounding surname (a lot of people that live there are bilingual). They’re meant to have a banging skatepark / scene there and I’ve been repeatedly instructed to keep an eye out for his mate Massi (who’s supposedly equally dope), so it must be true. We also know that it’s from travelling together for New Balance that him and Nick Richards became close friends, leading him to move to London in September 2019; which brings us to this part. Where to even begin with this thing though… These guys hit stuff all over the city, from the typical ‘why has no one skated this?’ bits in central, to some next level obscure shit like that manny pad in New Cross by Hong Kong city (best Dim Sum in London if you’re ever in that zone), to iconic spots that have been absolutely murdered and require bringing your A+++ game if you wanna film something, like Pimlico. If you’ve ever tried to bs 180 out of a straight manual you already know how bonkers that last one is, but to make matters worse that place has recently become a complete bust, now skatable only in 20 minutes intervals at most if you’re lucky. Think they had go back 6 times for that one…
