Yardsale – YS UK
‘Swansea, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, Telford, Leicester, Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Derby, Woking, Bournemouth, Reading, Salisbury, Sheffield, Basingstoke, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Rotherham and Barnsley’ – that’s the reply I got when I innocently asked Dan Kreteim where exactly they’d filmed this one lol. Obviously we all know the pandemic has forced brands of every scale to rethink where they choose to stack, but I for one did not expect to one day see the Yardsale lot to get so caught up in chasing sunsets all over the UK that they’d put out a video without a single London clip. And result banging! Trying to quench their insatiable thirst for clickety-clacking inclines in different parts of the country has not only brought them to hit tons of gems we’d never seen before, it’s had them thinking up new routes at some proper UK classics (see Bear at Wolverhampton’s Civic Centre) and applying their farfetched imaginations to all sorts of obscure, random bits they’d clock from the van along the way (see Bear’s to bench to bench to duck under to back three). Also what’s up with Alex Hatfield? Why does he have to look so bloody suave and composed all the time? Dude’s just backside flipped the hard way into a switch manual, is fully looking backwards or at the floor the entire time he’s balancing, like he probably doesn’t have a clue where he’s drifting, yet somehow it looks like he’s ballet dancing.
