Memory Screen: Tony Turbo
Okay so the context to this one is pretty wild. Tony Turbo is a filmer who worked for DC in the early 2000s, and who – seeing Sneep’s passion for celebrating that whole era of skateboarding – recently reached out to him asking if he’d be down to make a an edit with his footage… Just so that they’d have a bit more longevity than if they were just chucked on the gram (an initiative we salute). Obviously curious (and I’m sure a little flattered) Sneep accepted, and the files he received completely blew him away. We’re talking tons of the DC Video Stevie, AVE and Kalis clips you’ll have spent your youth rewinding, but also some completely unseen bits from that period, some alternate angles that will have you thinking ‘why didn’t they use that one?!’, some Seek / Lordz Flo and Alex… Needless to say it was a no brainer for Sneep and that the result is incredible, but also it really makes you wonder just how much unseen shit from your favourites is still out there collecting dust on tapes or hard drives. Like imagine if there was somehow that much unseen footage from say the Aesthetics video out there somewhere? Between this and that Lordz: Now They Give A Fuck About Us edit Paco did for us a few years back it really makes you feel like anything’s possible…
