Jake Cortez – JB/C
After catching our eye with his opening part in Rose Street Skateshop ‘s Rarity, the smartly dressed gentleman we’ve grown to know as Jake Cortez is back on our channels, this time with a solo project filmed by his brother Brandon. Expect lots of manual finesse, a couple of aggressively scooped impossibles and a beautiful fakie flip tailslide shuv – which on paper obviously sounds like something Chris Dobstaff would do in The Storm but in this case came out looking more like a move from Roman Gonzalez’s repertoire. Also as if the Balboa fountain is getting skated again after all these years?!
