ENERGY

‘We had everything imaginable thrown at us from the above apartments: eggs were a regular occurrence, ice cream, drinks, food… Bret even saw a smashed TV one day coming to skate.’ – Dean Koontz.

Welcome to the aptly titled ENERGY, a video documenting a magical point in time (2022-2023) when Dallas’ marble Legoland went from being an instant bust to a free-for-all, and Frankie Heck, Bret Gregory and the rest of Dean’s crew took it upon themselves to do Jeremy Holmes proud and stack, stack, stack (clips and benches) like there was no tomorrow.
We’ve always had soft spots for single spot edits but never before have we come across something that so perfectly captures the feeling of having a once-in-a-lifetime window at a spot you’ve grown up having to rush. It’s like you’re there with them, pinching yourself as people around you flip tiles, praying you’ll get another day of rocking up to the plaza to everyone you want to see already there, no texting needed.
