German Nieves — Big Germ Part
As a skateboarder, when you reach your forties, skating inevitably becomes harder. Not only does your body not function as well as it used to, but tons of adult life responsibilities interrupt all those hours on the street with your friends you used to have. Somehow, in some way, this has not affected German. In his late forties the fire hasn’t let up. I can’t tell you how psyched I was watching this part! German was one of the first people I ever skated with in NYC in the mid-’90s. So stoked to be writing about a German Nieves part in 2024. From NJ to NYC to Lisbon this part goes. Yes German!
Big Germ Part is dedicated to our dear friend Tim Achille, who left this earth way too soon.
