Lawrence Ravail – Early Bird
Oh he’s catching the worm alright – dude’s in flight with a mouth full of them for half his part!
How did we get here though? Our theory is a perfect storm of him developing superhuman skateboarding abilities in a place with fuck all to skate (a small island in the Indian Ocean called La Réunion) and moving to Bordeaux (which obviously has endless spots) to be with his day one Achille Isnard, who’s essentially just as hungry as him but for filming (with an emphasis on the hunger). Because you can have all the talent in the world, without someone as dedicated as you by your side capturing your shit day in day out and pushing you so you both evolve, it’ll just be wasted potential. And I guarantee there’s a lot more to come from these two…
Side note 1: That last ollie was on Bastien Salabanzi‘s bucket list for years but he never managed to roll away.
Side note 2: The only other instance (to our knowledge) of someone ever switch frontside flipping into a crooked grind from the side was Sam Dutzel in an old Logic, and he definitely did not do it like that.
