Flo Mirtain – Thirtysomething
Catch yourself complaining about all the dizzying face/feet zooming way more than you’d like to admit? This one’s for you.
Modern in terms of the camera it’s filmed on and the level of skating it showcases (the Palais de Tokyo NBD, all the mental pop-out singles at HDV, that ender…), yet incredibly traditional in its style of filming and editing, Flo Mirtain’s new joint is an ode to the videos that shaped his formative years. And sure, if you’ve rinsed French Fred’s Cliché videos or The Lordz vid as much as we have, some of those choices might feel a little predictable at times, but that’s kind of the whole point. Thirtysomething in no way claiming to reinvent the wheel: it’s about two old friends with the same set of references speaking a language they’re fluent in and giving you what you want to see. It’s the ultimate palate cleanser basically…
Filmed and edited by Vincent Jugnet.
