Small Bounty
Over the last few years, a lot of time has been spent discussing how extortionately overpriced the current industry standard fisheye is. We find ourselves wondering what it would take for filmers (who arguably already carry the culture on their backs for very little reward) to no longer have to live with the risk of dangling around a bit glass worth over a year’s rent, why alternative setups aren’t really gaining in popularity (despite people like Fritte clearly excelling at using them), and more generally if, when taking a step back to properly analyse the footage, the use of Xtreme even feels justified.
These are questions we generally don’t have the answers to but it does mean that when you do come accross an up-and-coming filmer that actually utilises the damn thing to the maximum of its potential, letting people grind accross the entire frame or appear from behind a gate in one corner of the screen to surprise you, always leaving the whole spot in shot for just the right amount of time to let all the information sink in, the video stands out.
Very curious to see what the future holds for Brandon and his crew, especially as more and more of them slowly start to get scooped up by some of our favourite board brands!
