Myles Furukawa – Echojournal

It’s no secret that Sean Kelling and the whole skateboarding ecosystem that exists around his shop have been nurturing the talents of young skateboarders and filmmakers in a way that’s pretty fucking special. From some of the kids almost instantly getting picked up by top-tier US board brands, to endlessly producing Cali vids you actually want to watch more than once, I think it’s safe to say they’re having a moment… Which brings us to today’s instalment of “Why do the Rose Street boys never seem to miss?”. Echojournal is a project by Myles and Casey Furukawa, two 16-year-old twins who apparently grew up off Rarity (feel old yet?). 16. I couldn’t get through to them yesterday because they were in school, for fucks sake. They should be crook back lipping skatepark handrails with weed socks and bright green Shake Junt Griptape! Them putting out something of this calibre, just between the pair of them, at that age, is mind-boggling. Needless to say, “moment” probably wasn’t the right word; this scene isn’t going anywhere.
