Dyshon Whidbee in “It’s Always Something”
The latest full-length from Charlotte, North Carolina-based filmer Joey Dennis is called “It’s Always Something”. Free is stoked to present Dyshon Whidbee’s part from the 5301CLT crew’s video. Dyshon has been on our radar for a while, his calm demeanour, manual prowess and creative trick selection really ticks all the boxes. But the one thing I most enjoy about his skating is his smile… Yes, I know it’s weird, but seeing him so happy after landing tricks just warms the heart. You can tell he’s really in it for the love.
A little from Joey Dennis: “5301CLT is a Charlotte-based skate crew tied to Black Sheep Skate Shop. The crew takes its name from the address of Eastland DIY, a legendary local spot that’s since been torn down. Eastland was built in 2016, and it’s where the crew first came together. Nearly a decade later, the bonds are still strong, and the skating speaks for itself.
This is the fourth full-length from 5301CLT, a project that highlights not just the crew, but what the Charlotte skate scene has to offer.”
