Bradley Saunders – Airbags
Now, obviously, sometimes you can tell someone’s got it just from watching them push down the street or snap up a curb, but the trick that tends to do the best job of instantly giving you an idea of someone’s style and general level on a skateboard is arguably the backside smith grind. Mainly because you can’t really get away with trying to style out a shit one, but also because anyone who’s ever laid trucks on anything knows just how hard it is to dip them properly, with the board touching the ledge/rail/coping for any longer than a split-second. And clearly we’re well aware of Brad’s skating, so this is a bit of a pointless ramble, but were we to discover him through those first 3 seconds of that Lewisham line, I’m convinced that they would have been enough to paint an accurate picture of his magic touch, and just how serious he’s getting about putting it to good use. Just the form, how long he sits on it for, the way he almost scoops out of it… The authority on the stomp… Best one we’ve seen in ages.
