Michael Brunner – HAIZINA

As a kid, particularly one who obsesses over kickflips and melting at spots with your mates, a lot of time is spent pranging about what life is going to look like as a grown-up, usually because it feels like nothing could possibly be funner than what you’re experiencing then and there. Until, as you grow older and wiser, you slowly start to realise that you were, in fact, completely… Right! Yep, that’s why Peter Pan syndrome is so prominent amongst skaters, but also why those of us who do manage to embrace the next stages of life and the responsibilities that come with them always seem to find ways to keep enjoying this bizarre chase. One where we’re not entirely sure what it is that we’re chasing, but for some reason will stop at nothing, regardless of feeling like we might break into a million pieces every time we step out of bed to get ready for our day jobs.
All that to say that getting updates from the long winter nights these guys spent perfecting their crafts as Bobaj’s kids were asleep was super inspiring (especially as it was for the most part just the two of them going for it around tiny towns in Switzerland), and we hope you guys enjoy the final product as much as we do. Michael’s unique trick selection and rubber arm/leg steez is at its wildest (in the best possible way), and production-wise it’s a 10/10. Going to be watching this one a lot.
