What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
If I really want to get hyped for a session I’d watch Forrest Edwards’ Unhinged part right before.
The world would be a better place if:
The world would be a better place if everyone had something that made them forget their phone.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
A positive influence on my life would be my best friend Mell, he always shares his real thoughts so when there is something I struggle with or I have to decide personal things, which I’m not sure about, I’d ask him for advice. I met Mell through high school. He doesn’t skate so what he taught me is to have a life outside of skating as well.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
My local indoor is Skatepark Utrecht, whilst the Covid lockdown was happening the indoor would be closed and everyone would be homeschooled, me and Maarten (my best friend at the time) would do the homework of the day early in the morning and head out to the outdoor Jaarbeurs Plein around 11am. The best memories came from the lockdown when I, Maarten and a whole lot of other homies were just warmed up and would go hit every single spot that was around there, it almost turned into a routine for us. The freedom was peaking and none of us had any worries on our minds.
Worst slam?
My worst slam happened on the second day of a trip in Barcelona, I was trying this stair set line ending with a bs 360 down an 11. I stuck the bs 360 but because of the way I landed I couldn’t take the impact; I leant too far back and my foot gripped to the ground whilst my board shot out. I instantly felt my ankle snap and knew that it was broken straight away.
Another big slam happened right after I landed a kickflip bs lipslide down a rough 15-stair handrail. I went back up and tried bs tailslide as well, my truck got caught up on the side of the rail and had me falling backwards all the way down. Twisted my ankle on one of the steps, landed on my tailbone, hit my head on the ground and got folded.
Who helps you out?
I would like to give a shout out to my parents for always believing and funding me, same for my friends, Santa Cruz, Reell jeans and Nike SB.

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
I watched the new Loop hardware video the other day before skating, and it made me pretty stoked to see the girls’ clips; it looked like they had so much fun filming that video. If I’m tired but I want to skate, I put on some energetic stuff like that crazy Sluggo Boyce part, which cracks me up so much. I listen to DJ sets to get amped up too. I think I’ve listened to the Underworld Boiler Room set at least 100 times.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
I’m definitely zoning out to schoolwork a lot when I’m not skating. And the zoning out part means I actually don’t get much done, and I’m just staring at my laptop. I’m trying to start to play guitar again, and I’m keen to learn another instrument, but that will probably be easier when I have less school and more time.
The world would be a better place if:
There were vert ramps every 10-mile radius, shoe laces never snapped, and the Club Penguin game came back.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
There have been loads of positive influences on my life in the last few years, my friends play a big part in motivating me to get out and skate, and teach me to prioritise having fun. I learn a lot from having the opportunity to travel and skate with different communities and people. Going to competitions has been cool because it’s taught me a lot about keeping focused and positive and I’ve learnt a lot about the power of a bit of confidence even when you really don’t feel that confident at all. When I go to new places without the pressure of competitions or filming it’s cool to hear so many skaters’ stories of how they got to where they are now. It’s nice hearing people’s advice, and it teaches me that there’s no correct or specific way of doing things; you can just make skating what you want it to be.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
A nice memory from my local in Thame is when I first started skating, we used to just stack loads of boards, and everyone was airing out the bowl over them for hours. I would literally do it all day; it felt like I was doing the best trick ever. We also used to use those clip-on fisheye lenses on our phones and would make edits with the worst clips known to man because the lens was so so shaky when we tried to film rock to fakies and no-complies. Shoutout Zacho, Alex, and Nykyta!
Worst slam?
I haven’t really had any super gnarly slams (touch wood) apart from hanging up and hitting my head a couple times. Last year at a competition, I did the splits, ripped my trousers and tore my MCL at the same time, which was fun.
Who helps you out?
I owe a lot to my parents for going above and beyond for me. I’m very, very grateful to get support from New Balance Numeric, huge thanks to Baines and Mackey. I’m grateful for everyone at Welcome Skate Store for supporting me; they are so kind and generous, and it’s such a great community up in Leeds. Darren Pearcy and everyone at Skateboard GB have supported me for years, and I’m super grateful to be a part of the team trying to qualify for the Olympics. Huge thank you to Mike Sinclair for backing me and being the legend he is, Phil at Keen Dist and also Deluxe Dist for hooking me up with boards and wheels, and Jake Powell/Stance socks! And thank you, Free, for this opportunity!

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
Anything Gustav Tønnesen, really – and maybe listen to some Nines, haha.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
When I’m not skating, I’m in an office working a basic sales job – typical Barcelona shit, haha. Other than that, I like being outside and in nature. I spend a lot of time chilling with friends, whether that’s relaxing on a terrace with a beer or going on a spur-of-the-moment hike up some random mountain trail. We always end up doing something cool.
The world would be a better place if:
People spent less time on their phones. Hate to say it, but I’m a victim of this too. But yeah, I just feel like time passes us by when we stare at Instagram, when we should be living in the present moment – because that’s all we really have… deep, I know lol.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
My parents have always been an inspiration to me, from my mother’s humble beginnings in Kolkata, India, to meeting my dad and moving to Cork to start a new life. My dad’s the most easy-going guy – even in the most hectic situations, he can keep a level head. He’s definitely taught me not to take things for granted and, overall, how to be a good person.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
Well, I grew up skating at a skatepark in Cork called Mardyke Skatepark. It’s positioned in the city centre, and it’s kind of a meet-up spot between the south and the north of the city. It was also a very popular drinking spot. There are many incidents, both hilarious and gnarly, that come to mind, but the funniest common occurrence would be on a dry Saturday when everyone’s out having a few drinks down the park. People would come up to us while we were skating, after having way too much to drink, asking, “Can I have a shot of your skateboard, bai?”
Initially, we would say no because we don’t want muddy Air Max prints on our grip. But fuelled by cheap Tesco liquor, they were persistent. Eventually, we’d end up giving them a board, and they’d try to go down the smallest 1/4 pipe in the park and absolutely rinse themselves. Hahaha.
Worst slam?
Just recently, I broke two bones in my forearm. Shit was peak — I’ve never had anything that crazy happen to me before. My arm was looking like a snake.
Who helps you out?
Big thanks to my family, all the homies, Tom and Daryl from Baglady, Korahn over at Nike SB, Naoise from High Rollers, and everyone at Free for making me part of this. Big love, Gs!

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
Honestly, what gets me hyped to go skating is the thought of linking up with my mates, spending time and evolving together, and the whole energy that comes with going filming. That as a whole is what really makes me want to get out there and put the time in.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
To be honest, not that much… I’m into quite a lot of different things, but I never really get properly invested… I like taking photos, listening to and trying to make music, I like watching movies, sewing, I love drawing, I paint sometimes… But I’d like to have something else that I really love.
The world would be a better place if:
If there weren’t envious and hateful people roaming the streets, who think they’re holier than thou, and who believe they have the right to think for others. Maybe if everyone was good to their neighbour and minded their own business, things would be different… Because the real strength lies in unity. Just need all of us to spread peace and love around us.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
I would say my friends, my family… I’d even say just everyone I’ve met, whether I’ve had a close relationship with them or not. The people around me are amazing, all of them. They all have such kind hearts and positive energy. They love everything and experience everything. I take a lot of inspiration from my friends and my girlfriend. Someone once told me, no one can love you more than yourself.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
We were at Capzoo with a friend of mine a while back, I’d say about five years ago. And out of nowhere, we saw 15 to 20 cops show up with dogs and all their usual tyranny. I remember thinking, “Damn, have they really not got anything better to do, than to harass people when they’re in their ‘designated’ areas?” And then there was this guy who’s always around, kind of weird, but you know the kind of guy that’s at every park, who must have some kind of story, but nobody really knows because nobody’s ever gone to ask him, haha. Anyway he just starts yelling like crazy and makes the cops chase him, haha, it really cracked me up. He was really giving them the run around! We just watched from a distance; it was really quite the scene, haha.
Worst slam?
I was like 10-12 years old, and I was about two weeks away from taking off my sling because I’d twisted my elbow or something. We were at the skatepark in Seignosse, and I don’t know, we really wanted some candy I think, haha, so I grabbed a board, and we went to the little corner shop in the village. On the way back, there was a mini hill, but really just tiny, and then a rock went under my wheel, and I went flying onto my shoulder and head, but like gnarly. Bleeding ear, skull fractured in two places, messed up shoulder… Not too stoked on that one, I was extremely lucky to be surrounded by the right people when it happened, and avoid any lasting damage…
Who helps you out?
My family, my mom, my little brother, my friends, my girlfriend – we all support each other in everything we do or wish to undertake. I recently met the guys from Lowprofile, they’re all legends on the team, we share the same energy in whatever we do, or try to do, haha. They make boards. Good shape and really stylish designs. Big up Greg! DC also give me bits, thanks, Dave! Luidgi also gives me Ace Trucks. Nixon give me stuff too, and we go on little trips from time to time with Lucien [Gourdal] and Nassim [Lachhab]. Greg Poissonnier really helped me a lot when I was younger, too, giving us boards and endlessly driving us around to the same handful of spots we have in the region to shoot photos, haha.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped me, whether directly or indirectly, who gave me advice and ideas! Peace!

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
I’m always hyped to go skate, haha, but “metal pipe mp3” on YouTube is great to wake the body up. Working in a warehouse motivates me to skate more and work less as well. Jokes aside: a Nick Jensen part followed by a Bobby Dekeyzer part.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
Chilling with my girlfriend, watching skate videos, sometimes both at the same time (sorry!), football after the sesh when it’s sunny and playing video games with friends from my hometown that I miss a lot.
The world would be a better place if:
People took a step back before taking action, if they followed their hearts rather than what society expects of them.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
My mom taught me by her actions that we are no better than the poor and not less than the rich; she showed me what peace of mind looks like. Also my friends had a huge influence on me when my brother left the house. They told me what an adolescent needed to hear, and they protected me from all the potential mistakes I could have made. Much love guys, thank you.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
It’s not my local anymore, but I used to skate the city hall spot in Marseille a lot, and the one time I skated there with Jake Johnson definitely stands out… At the end of the sesh, he told me it was a pleasure to skate with me… I know it’s not much, but hey, it’s Jake Johnson!
Worst slam?
For sure, when I tore my ACL on a fs flip down the trash can gap of Grand Théâtre in Bordeaux. Weird feeling, would give it 1 out of 5 stars, don’t recommend. It was probably the worst year of my life afterwards, but it’s part of the game. I learned to take care of my body a bit more, so it’s all good! If you are going through it, be patient and trust the process; it’s the best feeling to move freely afterwards.
Who helps you out?
I could go for a full page on the thanks part, haha. I get help from NB Numeric, shout out Flo [Mirtain] and Mark [Baines], Riot Skateshop, shout out to Seb [Garnaud]. Thanks mama for making me feel rich when we didn’t have that much. Thanks to all my friends from Toulon, without y’all, I probably wouldn’t be doing this interview. Thanks, Mika from Zionriders Skateshop for being the first one to help me out 12 years ago. I hope you are doing well! Thanks to my surgeon and my physiotherapist for saving my knee. Thanks Réhane, for being there, I love you. Thanks to all the people who helped me grow, even a tiny bit; it’s much appreciated. Thanks, Freeskatemag, much love.

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
”My God Has a Telephone” by The Flying Stars Of Brooklyn NY feat. Aaron Frazerer.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
I’m currently in my last year of high school, studying electrical engineering. After school, I go skate, those are my two main activities.
The world would be a better place if:
People take what they need instead of taking as much as possible.
A positive influence on our life and what it/they taught you:
My father, he taught me that you need to make the best out of it – stuff happens you’ll like and dislike.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
Mechelen skatepark DIY, that’s the place to be haha. I have so many good memories from there, but for me all the
barbecue sessions with the homies are the best…
Worst slam?
When I was 13 I tore my kidney, I hadn’t even done a trick, it was just by rolling around.
Who helps you out?
Yeah all my friends and all my sponsors, Girl Skateboards, Vans, Volcom, Ashes Griptape, Spitfire Wheels, Lockwood Skateshop and Jean Jaques Distribution.

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
I don’t have a special song or a skate video to get hyped up. The main thing that hypes me up is skating and having fun with my friends or alone, because some sessions with only you and your headphones are the best.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
Probably hanging out with friends or playing volleyball. I’m not that good, but it’s fun and we’ll spend time together. I also like to cook for myself and bake with friends; you can make some great memories.
The world would be a better place if:
Coconut water was free haha, no but really if people wouldn’t lie so much, even about the smallest things only to make them look good.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
There are my friends from school with whom I spend most of my time, they mean a lot to me and they have shown me what real friendship is. I think my parents had and still are having a big positive influence on me, they taught me pretty much everything like manners and kindness that I try to show every day, but there is also another important person: my skateboard coach and friend Karol. He explained everything to me about skateboarding and introduced me to the community in the best possible way.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
The name of my local is KBT, it’s like five minutes on board from my place. My favourite memory from there is when the whole crew of Daniel’s KBT Skate Gang was skating and we played like six or seven games of skate per session. It’s because the park isn’t that big. We have some nice features like a long ledge, rail and a weird wallie kind of thing.
There is one more memory that I will remember all my life. Go Skateboarding Day 2023, I was trying
to do a bs nosegrind on a bank (I’d never done a bs nosegrind at that time) and all the people
were hyping me up, but it was getting late, and on the last try I did it and won a board.
Worst slam?
It was my first international competition with the Polish Skate Federation. I broke my elbow while I was doing a fs lipslide on the smallest rail in the park. My truck caught on a rail and I landed on the other side of the rail where I landed on my hand and had hyperextension. Unfortunately, they had to operate on me and insert screws.
Who helps you out?
I think everyone is helpful and supportive. I appreciate that my parents let me go on skateboarding trips all around the world and that my mum tries to learn names of the tricks haha. A big thank you goes to my sponsors: Vans, Youth Skateboards, PatzGrip, SHstore, Noir Hardware that support me with all their stuff, it really helped me and it’s nice to represent such brands. I hope that our cooperation will last as long as possible. My thanks also go to my friends, they always help with school work while I am on a skate trip or a competition, and they also just simply support my skateboarding.

What are you throwing on to get hypedto go skating?
Well, I wear mostly Supreme so when I wear new clothes, that definitely gets me hyped. I usually wear jeans too;
I’ve realised I don’t really like joggers or shorts, they almost feel too chill to be like wearing out of the house, I dunno. I also love dunks…. New dunks always get me hyped to get out. Black as well, I like to wear black outfits when I skate for sure.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
When I’m not skating, if I’m at home, I’m on the Discord call with my friends, watching stuff. Sometimes I make music for fun, or me and Patryk or Dom try to work on some “Tapped” designs or ideas, or just talk about future plans about life in general and how we are getting there. I’m also studying photography right now, so I do my coursework when I can, but I’m a little behind right now, ha. I don’t really go out a lot and I ain’t really a drinker, so we just get fried most of the time and get food or go out in central and like terrorise Soho for a while or something, but to be honest, new shit every day.
If we ain’t skating and we go out, anything crazy can happen. Always zoning out to the music, though, like I need music. I hate it when I break my headphones, it’s so annoying.
The world would be a better place if:
I think the world would be a better place if more people were passionate about what they do and cared or understood how what they do can end up making a positive difference in others’ lives. Because influence is definitely real… So without being passionate, how can you influence others to find theirs, you know?
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
Skating definitely had a positive influence on my life because it showed me that if you want to do something or get good, it’s all really on you, and how much you work; there are no handouts, no cheating, no factors that will make you good other than how much you practise. Also, that confidence is really important, like a lot of the time, in skating, confidence is what will allow you to land the trick. You could have the best kickflip, but if you’re scared, you will never commit to it, despite how good you are, so the hard work and confidence go hand in hand. Confidence in your abilities can get you much further than you would think. So maintaining confidence on and off the board is important to me because it affects how you do things and how you feel every day.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
My local skatepark is Clapham… Oh my, there’s definitely some weird guys who have come into the park over the years… And these kids, as well, from the area, would come by at night and have firework wars with each other, that was kinda crazy. But that’s nothing compared to Southbank, not gonna lie. Like when it gets mad late, it turns into a TV show there, I swear.
Worst slam?
Probably like a few years ago, when I was kinda new to skating, and I was first going to SB, I tried to ollie up the cheese block and my back truck clipped, and I fell forward and landed on my head and my legs like, scorpioned over me. I almost snapped my neck, but I was fine somehow. I just had a little headache, but you know I still hate that cheese block to this day, I never skate it, ha.
Who helps you out?
Well, my mum helps me a lot, she’s the best. She makes sure I’m good and like I’m not just eating chocolate every day or even eating at all. Friends, of course, all of the guys there are so many to list, Dom, Sam, Barny, Felix, Akin, Oshai, Ethan, Raffi, but definitely, I’ve met a lot of lifetime friends from skating, and they definitely mean a lot to me because me and my friends are in this life together, you know! We are all gonna go up in whatever we’re doing, so it’s important we stick together. And definitely thanks and shoutout to the olders Twiggy, Kyle Wilson, Dan Fisher, Casper Brooker, Kevey, Alex Hatfield, Chewy Cannon, Grant Dawson, Nelly, Kyron Davis, Samuel Parrado, Onyedi… Yeah, there’s a lot more, but these guys definitely helped me out when I was like “new” to Southbank and skating in general. They definitely made me feel like I was a part of skating and hyped me up when I was learning new shit, which really got me gassed to get better and learn shit even faster. And it’s crazy because watching some of the videos they’re in is what inspired me to skate in the first place, so them having that respect for me as a newer skater… I’m forever grateful. Sponsors/Flows I would say thanks to Grant and Greg at Supreme, Korahn and Kyron at Nike, Alan Glass at Shiner, and Onyedi and Slawn with Ourmotherlan. They are looking after me right now. I’d say thanks to Chewy for adidas, James Cruickshank with Cons, and Rock Solid for hooking me up in the past.

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
I’m not watching that many skate videos lately, but the last one I watched was Man Down from Tiltmode Army. Recently, what I do more before skating is listening to music while playing Skate 3, which I think is 1000 times better than the new shitty skate game.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
I like to do a bunch of other things. I used to make music with a band we had, called “PEPSI GREMLIN”, but now I only do it occasionally for fun with my day one friend and roommate, Noah.
I also started sewing three years ago, ‘cause my very good friend Niki got me into it. Now I make my own bags and clothes, or gifts for others. As a Majorcan, I also love going to the sea or the mountains and being surrounded by nature, which sometimes is hard in Madrid, but we do manage to escape from the big city sometimes.
The world would be a better place if:
If everybody had something that makes them escape from reality in a healthy way, just like skateboarding and a lot of other things do.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
My big homie Sebas, who recently became a father. Congrats mf! He is always making good things for the skate scene in Mallorca and is hype on looking for new spots. That non-stop energy is something to take note of.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
My local spot has always been Sa Faixina in Mallorca. Since I started skating, I’ve always lived close by, and it was really cool to have such a nice place to skate and hang out near home. There have been many crazy days in Sa Faixina. I don’t know why, but that plaza is a magnet for weird people. There was a month many years ago that a Russian woman in her sixties who lived on the streets used to show up, in addition to the usual crowd. One of those days at the end of the sesh, one of my best friends and I were smoking and drinking, as usual, on a bench next to her. The woman was talking to us in a happy/drunk mood while shouting things in Russian, and suddenly, a friend that used to skate there showed up. He hung around for a while with the group, and before we knew it, we looked up and there he was, making out passionately with her. That was a day to remember because it was supposed to be one of those boring winter days when you go home early, and out of nowhere, that whole situation unfolded.
Worst slam?
There’s a pretty rough one, especially for my friends, because I don’t remember a damn thing. I was skating in Madrid, doing a wallie I always did easily, my board slipped, and I fell headfirst. From then on, I don’t remember anything, but my friends told me they kept asking my name and I couldn’t even say it, they kept asking where I was and I kept saying Mallorca… Basically, I was unconscious for about an hour and regained consciousness while saying goodbye to everyone so we could go to the hospital. I remember I didn’t have a metro card, so I showed the security guard the video of the fall, telling him I was going to the hospital, and he let me through. In the end, they took really good care of me at the hospital and thank god it wasn’t anything serious.
Who helps you out?
Welcome Skateshop has been my biggest supporter since I arrived in Madrid. They’ve always helped me with gear and everything else, which I’ll always be grateful for. Right now, I’m getting some shoes from Vans and Ace Trucks from Mesa Dist. I also want to thank my friends for putting up with me and for being so amazing. And above all, my family for always being there.

What are you throwing on to get hyped to go skating?
Wouldn’t say I have a specific go-to song to be honest, usually just shuffle the playlist. I got a very random music selection going on, from Bob Dylan to Nirvana back to Oasis or something, haha.
What you’re zoning out to (or doing) when you’re not skating?
If I’m not skating, I’m for sure playing guitar, piano or climbing. I also like going hiking and camping when I can. I actually just got a sewing machine recently, so that’s gonna be fun to figure out too.
The world would be a better place if:
AI wasn’t a thing, haha. It’s getting a little too realistic; I don’t even know if half the stuff I’m watching is real anymore.
A positive influence on your life and what it/they taught you:
For a skate influence, I’d say Jack O’Grady is definitely up there. I never know what to expect when watching a video with him in it; it’s great, haha. Music-related I’d say Bob Dylan and Oasis are the main ones. They are the ones that got me playing guitar and piano, which is pretty much all I do as well as skating these days.
Your local and a memory from lurking there:
My local is a skatepark called Projects in Manchester, what we all now and forever have called Cage. I have endless stories and funny memories from that place; I pretty much spent my whole life there. One wholesome moment that stands out from the rest is when Enjoi did a demo there. At that point, Enjoi Oververt was the only video I really watched because it was the only one I had on disc. Getting to see them all skate my local was pretty crazy, and getting to skate it with them was even better, haha.
Worst slam?
Probably breaking my wrist; that wasn’t very fun. Mainly because of how long it took to heal and the surgeries. I felt like I was in a cast for ages after that.
Who helps you out?
Yeee shoutout my whole family, everyone’s helped me out over the years, and all sponsors, past and present, definitely wouldn’t be able to skate as much without all of them: Nike, Hoddle, Drama, my local shop Note, of course. Also, all my friends; love them all very much.
